Y3. w.e 25.1.19 Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Friday 25th January 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
Over the last week, we have continued work on our myths and legends. Meanwhile in maths we have been working on counting on and back by bridging on a number line and in our RE work we have focused on The Trinity.
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- Finishing my myth made me feel happy as my hero found the gold he needed.
- Mrs Riddell teaching us.
- I enjoyed the ICT where we played the maths games.
- Gymnastics was good, we improved our roly-poly skills!
- Maths – I liked doing the number lines, I can add and subtract some big numbers.
- I liked learning about the Celtic crosses, we designed our own with never ending patters, a circle to represent the sun and the cross as well.
Family discussion questions:
- When using a number line to add, which of the numbers is most sensible to put on the number line first?
- What were ‘icons’ traditionally painted on? A) Canvas or B) Wood?
- What made your hero/heroine so successful
Looking forward:
Next week, we shall be subtracting on a number line, by counting on! English lessons will see us using our imaginations to write our second mythical stories.
