Y3. w/e 12.7.19 Looking Back and Forth
Friday 12th July 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
In maths we have been adding and subtracting fractions and prepared and performed play scripts in English. We have completed our RE topic of 'The Covenant' as well as supported Year 2 in their DT castle making!
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I liked making the castles with Year 2 because it was fun and they were really good at it too.
- I enjoyed watching the plays being performed… and I am really excited to show mine too!
- I enjoyed practising for Cross Country, I like to see how fast I can go (although I know I need to pace myself.)
- I enjoyed swimming because we got to do lots of different activities, in the middle part of the pool this week.
- I liked how everyone changed their voices during the acting of the plays, it made them realistic.
- I liked doing Guided Reading and Independent Reading because I finished one biiiiig book this week and started the next!
Family discussion questions:
- Order these fractions from smallest to largest. 1/3, 1/6, 1/10
- True or false? ¾ > 6/8. Explain.
- What is the symbol for a station that you would find on an OS style map?
Looking forward:
Next week we will be designing and beginning to paint part of the Junior Playground fence, this is part of our Improving the Environment art appreciation topic. We will be completing the performances of our play scripts and learning about ‘Jesus the Saviour’ in our RE.
