Y4 Looking Back and Forth - Friday 31st January 2025
Friday 17th January – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4
Looking back:
This week, the class read our new fantastic story Arthur and the Golden Rope. The children looked at the story and began to write an introduction to their first person myth narrative they are going to create in the next two weeks. In maths, we explore factors and then moved on to factor pairs. Confidence in their TTRockstars is really helping in their maths.
Questions to ask at home -
- What is a metaphor?
- What is a simile?
- What is personification?
- What is a hyperbole?
- What is a factor in maths?
- What is a product in maths?
- What is a perfect number?
- What is a square number?
Children’s highlights of the week
- Maths factor pairs
- Finishing our quiz boards
- Football on the astro
- The book fayre
- Maths rainbow factors
- Double pages for R.E.
Looking forward:
Next week, the class will be completing their string printing with their runic prints. The children will be learning all about Sutton Hoo and the treasure found there. In French, the children will be learning about money (very useful when you are on your holidays!). In e-safety the class will be learning about plagiarism.
