Y5 11.3.22 Weekly Update
Friday 11th March 2022 – Y5 Weekly Update
Looking back:
The children have done some really useful e-safety work this week, all about how to stay safe when playing online games. They also completed some lovely PSHE work. They discussed their future goals and how they might work to achieve them. They also designed some positivity t-shirts, which were fantastic.
In science, we conducted an investigation into how we would separate the sand and salt from sea water. In maths, the children have been doing really well with decimals.
Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We enjoyed watching the video about Anthony Ogogo and discussing what our goals.
- We are really enjoying The Hound of the Baskervilles.
- We had a good discussion about e-safety.
Family discussion questions:
- Ask the children what they have learned about dissolving and separation in science.
- Can they tell you their goal, and how they plan to get there?
- Can they discuss with you how they would stay safe on an online game?
Looking forward:
Next week, we will continue to explore decimals and fractions in maths. In science work, we will conclude our separating mixtures investigation, and move on to looking at reversible and irreversible changes. In our geography work, we will be looking at the Ordnance Survey of the Burwardsley area.
Have a great weekend!
