Y5 13.9.19 Looking Back and Forth
Friday 13th September 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 5
Looking back:
The children have enjoyed another great week. They have been working hard on some geography work in preparation for our Burwardsley residential next week.
The children had a useful talk from the PSCO about on-line safety and we followed this up with a discussion in class.
Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We really enjoyed getting our instruments for Wider Opps.
- We are enjoying PE on Tuesdays and Fridays (dance and tag-rugby).
- We have enjoyed listening to, and writing about, ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes.
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- To tell you what they learned about Ordnance Survey maps.
- To tell you what they know about Burwardsley and what they are looking forward to next week.
Looking forward:
Next week is residential week! We will be leaving around 9.30 on Wednesday morning - children to be in school at the normal time. Just a reminder that the children need a larger bag/suitcase which will be taken on to Burwardsley when we are dropped off at Beeston. They will also need a separate small rucksack to carry their lunch/drink.
If you have indicated that the children will need medication while we are away, please could they complete a medical form (available from the reception desk).
We’re really looking forward to what is always a great trip.
Wider Opportunities:
Have a practise playing your instrument. Practise getting it out in under two minutes. Have fun getting to know your instrument.
