Y5 14.10.22 Weekly Update
Friday 14th October 2022 – Y5 Weekly Update
Looking back:
The children have been producing some wonderful work for the exhibition. We have been inspired by Hindu proverbs and the children practised some calligraphy skills before presenting a proverb in neat. Continuing on the Hinduism theme, we have also produced some wonderful henna designs. We also researched the life of Mahatma Gandhi, and produced some lovely peacock artwork. The exhibition will be opened on Wednesday and Thursday for you to enjoy all the classes wonderful work.
Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We really enjoyed producing our peacock artwork.
- We really liked creating a piece of artwork based on Mahatma Gandhi.
- We have enjoyed produced the batik artwork with Mrs Riddell.
Family discussion questions:
- Ask the children why we have been painting peacocks.
- Ask the children to show you how to do column subtraction with larger numbers.
Looking forward:
Next week, the exhibition will finally be here. It will be open on Wednesday and Thursday, 2-6.30pm.
On Thursday at 5pm, the children have been invited to return to school to perform a song with Year 6. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
On Monday, the children’s homework will be to create a short presentation about themselves. This can simply be something they can read out to the class, or a little Powerpoint presentation. We will start presenting these the first week back after half-term.
