Y5 Weekly Update 16.12.22
Friday 16th December 2022 – Y5 Weekly Update
Looking back:
We’ve had a lovely last week of the term in Year 5. We really enjoyed performing the Christmas service three times on Monday. On Wednesday, we drew the winners of the Christmas hampers – thanks so much for your support with this. Today we have done our Elf Run, and will spend the afternoon watching a film with the rest of the school.
Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We enjoyed performing in the Christmas Service.
- We found it interesting researching the legacy of the Ancient Greeks.
- We enjoyed the Elf Run.
Family discussion questions:
- Ask the children tell you all about the legacy of the Ancient Greeks.
- Can the children remember what happened in the myth, 'Theseus and the Minotaur'?
Looking forward:
After Christmas, our history topic changes to World War II. In English, we will be studying a graphic novel version of the classic story, The Hound of the Baskervilles. In science, our topic changes to ‘Materials’. I have updated the class page to show all the topics we will be studying next half term.
PE Day continues to be on Fridays after Christmas.
Thank you so much for my gifts and cards this week. I am very grateful and really appreciate it.
Have a lovely festive break!
