Y5 18.1.19 Looking Back and Forth
Friday 18th January 2018 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 5
Looking back:
It’s been a great week. The children have produced some fantastic writing based on the book, ‘The Railway Children’. They’ve also done some tricky maths work, ordering and adding fractions.
Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We enjoyed the fractions work.
- We enjoyed the beginning of ‘The Railway Children’.
- We like playing hockey in PE.
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- what they learned about ordering and adding fractions.
- to explain what friction is.
- why many towns and cities have a river running through them.
Looking forward:
Next week we will continue our writing topic based on ‘The Railway Children’. In maths, we will be multiplying fractions before moving on to percentages. In science we will be conducting an investigation that tests air resistance.
