Friday 21^st 2021 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 5

Looking back: 

Another impressive week from the children. They have really enjoyed the book, ‘The Promise’, and have produced some great writing on this. We have been interpreting tables and graphs in maths. The children found this tricky, but showed a great attitude.

All children have had the opportunity to have a go in the pool. They seem to have really enjoyed it!

Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:

• We have enjoyed watching The Railway Children, and the guided reading sessions based on this.
• We enjoyed learning about water resistance in science.
• We loved swimming!

Family discussion questions:

• Ask the children what they learned about the term ‘Netiquette’ in our e-safety lesson.
• Ask the children what they learned about reliable sources of evidence in history.

Looking forward:

Don’t forget, all children will need their swimming kits on Friday (28^th).

In class, we will be undertaking a final piece of writing for our current literacy topic. In maths, we will be practising our skills with decimals. In ICT, the children have been creating some lovely, interactive posters. We will be finishing them off this week.
