Y5 27.5.22 Weekly Update
Friday 27th May 2022 – Y5 Weekly Update
Looking back:
This half-term has absolutely flown by! The children have written a fantastic recount about the journey of a river this week. They’ve done some great work learning how to draw and measure angles. On Thursday, those who weren’t part of the Young Voices concert had a lovely afternoon undertaking a carousel of activities in mixed year groups. Today (Friday), we have made some kites to help celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.
Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We loved the Jubilee activities.
- We really liked working with different year groups for the first time in a long time.
- We enjoyed creating a mind map about worship, in our RE lesson.
Family discussion questions:
- Ask the children about the activities they did in the carousel on Thursday afternoon (if they were in school and not at the Young Voices concert).
- Ask the children about making their kite..
Looking forward:
After half-term the children will be completing our geography topic on rivers, before moving on to a local area study in history.
In our written work, we will be undertaking a short English unit based on newspaper reports. We will then be moving on to do some writing based on King Kong!
PE day continues to be on Tuesdays in the last half-term.
Enjoy the break!
