Y5 8.2.19 Looking Back and Forth
Friday 8th February 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 5
Looking back:
On Monday, the children had a fantastic time with Nick Rowles, a nature and wildlife expert. He opened our eyes to the wonderful nature we have right here on our school field. To link in with the nature theme, the children have written fantastic recounts about the journey of a river; next week they will go on to write an environmental poem about pollution in our rivers.
Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We have enjoying looking at Monet’s artwork.
- We liked the journey of a river writing…and pretending to be a pebble!
- We enjoyed the multiples, factors and prime numbers work.
- We enjoyed our session with Nick Rowles.
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- to tell you the difference between factors and multiples.
- about the Monet artwork they have been looking at.
Looking forward:
Next week the children will be completing their final piece of Monet artwork for next month’s art exhibition. In maths, we will be problem solving with time and answering questions about time-tables. In science, we will be continuing our forces work; looking at levers, gears and pulleys.
