Y5 Weekly Update 13.5.22
Friday 13th May 2022 – Y5 Weekly Update
Looking back:
We’ve had a great week in Year 5. The children have been enjoying working on the book, The Promise, in our English lessons. They have been exploring characterisation and language features. The children have produced a wonderful information booklet about wildlife in estuaries for our geography books. In RE, the children did some notetaking about sacred texts, before using their notes to present work on this. Their RE books are looking fantastic!
Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- It was interesting learning about how plants reproduce.
- We enjoyed playing rounders in PE.
- It’s been exciting seeing the swimming pool being built and filled!
Family discussion questions:
- Ask the children what they learned about sacred texts across different religions.
- Can the children tell you about vegetative reproduction in plants?
Looking forward:
Next week, we will continue our English work based on The Promise and the children are writing their own character narrative story. In maths, we will be moving on to angles work. In science we will be looking at the life cycle of a bird, and the internal features of an egg.
The children will also be having at least one session of swimming. They will need their swimming kits in school on Monday!
