Y5 Weekly Update 4.10.24
Friday 4th October 2024 – Y5 Weekly Update
Looking back:
The children have worked so hard this week! We have produced some lovely work for the exhibition, painting some Ancient Greek plates with scenes from Jason and the Argonauts, and a lovely piece of writing based on the Trojan Horse. In maths, we have been working on addition and subtraction strategies. In science we looked at the work of the inspirational scientist, Maggie Aderin-Pocock.
Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We are enjoying playing football in PE.
- We really liked the art work with Mrs Riddell.
- We enjoyed the Jason and the Argonauts myth and the art work we produced.
Family discussion questions:
- Can the children tell you all about the Trojan Horse myth?
- Ask the children about the life of Maggie Aderin-Pocock.
Looking forward:
Next week, we will be undertaking some more fantastic exhibition work, exploring the life of Alexander the Great.
In maths, we continue learning strategies for addition and subtraction and applying these to problem solving questions.
In science, the children will learning about why we have night and day.
Have a great weekend!
