Year 1 we 2nd February
Hi All,
Next week – WATCH THIS SPACE
Something amazing is going to happen and the children are at this very moment unaware!!
On Monday night please ask if anything usual happened at school today? You are sure to get a good answer.
We will continue to look at explanatory texts, but with a new twist (don’t worry it is a lot more exciting than Miss Bairstow and I in summer clothes).
- maths we will be continuing our work on looking at addition and problem solving with numbers to 20. We will look at always starting to count on from the bigger number. (commutative law) Using their knowledge of number bonds to 10 to find number bonds to 20.
The children have used ictgames and Topmarks addition games – if you get a chance to access them at home, they’re free and the children really enjoyed the chance to consolidate their addition skills on these games.
In the afternoons the children are going to working on their topic on mega structures and the science behind seasonal changes as well as British birds. Remember this week the children are off to Jodrell Bank on Thursday to support this work.
