Year 1 we 3rd March
Hi All,
In English we will be continue with our work on dinosaurs. We will continue our work on non-fiction writing. We will be looking at texts about dinosaurs (T-Rex in particular) as well as other ferocious beasts (sharks and polar bears). We will start putting our own text together, using questions and answers as a starting point.
In maths we will be looking at addition and subtraction; what numbers are 1 more and 1 less, 2 more or 2 less (numbers to 20 and then 100) and number bonds to 10.
In the afternoons the children will have Religious Education and continue to look at Easter. The children will continue their work on materials and megastructures in the afternoons as well as P.E. lessons and Show and Tell Friday!

Early ‘Heads Up’
The Phonics Screening meeting for parents will be on the 10th March. We will repeat the session twice that day to give you a chance to attend one.
One session will be at 9am in the Sunshine Room directly after drop off. If you can’t make this one, there will be another at 6.45 pm in the evening in the Sunshine Room (It is film night so if possible you can drop your children off and at film night, get them settled, and then come to the meeting).
Homework sheets to be handed in on Friday.
Don’t forget the reading challenge – so far we have had lots of children taking the challenge. Remember it has to be 14 days consecutive reading at home.
If you have any queries or questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
