Year 2 13th March Looking Back and Forth
Friday 13th March 2020 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2
Looking back:
This week the children have written fantastic stories using our book, Oliver and Patch, as inspiration. Our focus in maths has been multiplication and division.
In Science we have begun to learn about “Our Environment” by classifying living, non-living things and those that have never been alive. We have begun to learn about South Africa. The children have impressed me with the knowledge and skills they have retained from their learning in Year 1.
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- Oliver and Patch – story writing
- Sports Relief Zumba with the whole school
- Mixed up maths
- Science – out on the playground sorting objects
Family discussion questions:
- Why is the weather in South Africa hotter than in the UK?
Looking forward:
- Reading books are changed on Monday but please ensure your child has their pack with them every day

- Writing letters
- Multiplication and division reasoning problems
