Friday 26th November 2021 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2
Looking back:
The children have really enjoyed publishing their stories and they are brilliant. We continue to read every day either in small groups or as a whole class. Reading is part of almost every lesson we do and it has been great to see how everyone is improving. In maths we have worked on multiplication by counting in 2s,5s and 10s and making/drawing arrays.
In Science we investigated materials around school and began to look at their properties. Some were flexible, shiny or made a ringing sound. In history we investigated Celtic roundhouses, Celtic people and discovered their features. PE has seen us enjoy gymnastics with the sports coaches. The children have also enjoyed geography, music, nativity songs and zumba.

- Reading books will be changed on Monday. Please ensure your child has their pack with them every day.

- PTA Christmas Hamper raffle. Tickets are £1 per strip. Please send money in a named envelope and we will send the tickets home

Please ensure all homework is completed and do let me know if you have any concerns
Maths: counting in 2s sheet due back on Friday
English: instructions sheet due back on Friday
Spellings: sheet sent home for the quiz on Friday.
Please read with your child every day. Many children are decoding their reading books well but find answering the comprehension questions much harder. We are working on this at school but it will really help if you can also ask questions during home question time. Please see our class page for further ideas (files section).
