Year 2 26th March Looking back and Forth
Friday 26th March 2021 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2
Looking back:
We have had a super week in Year 2.
In English we have been busy exploring and enjoying our text, Oliver and Patch. The children have investigated noun phrases and interesting verbs to use in next week’s work. They have explored the feelings that the character’s display and thought about what they would have done. They are really enjoying this book.
In Maths the children used their knowledge of multiply and divide to solve problems as well as investigating capacity with lots of water! Thankfully, it was a dry day! In guided reading groups we worked on answering comprehension questions using the text. In science we investigated habitats and then looked at micro-habitats on the field. We have also been active in gymnastics and enjoyed an intensive aerobic lesson on Friday afternoon. We continued to work on friendship skills and problem solving together.

Homework in Year 2
Please read with your child every day. Many children are decoding their reading books well but find answering the comprehension questions much harder. We are working on this at school but it will really help if you can also ask questions during home question time. Please see our class page for further ideas (files section).
Maths: problem solving due Thursday 1st April
English: rhyming work due Thursday 1st April
Spellings: There are no set spellings as we will be doing a quiz based work done at school.
