Year 2 8th November Looking Back and Forth
Friday 8th November 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2
Looking back:
It has been a great first week back to school. This week we have begun writing stories about a lost family of penguins who go on an adventure. In maths we have been subtracting numbers, with a focus on being accurate. We have also finished our Science topic of “Healthy me.” We have now begun learning the songs for our nativity production. Please check our class page for details of the dates. Soon we will be sending parts home for the children to learn and we will also be sending a costume list.
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- Learning how far a sneeze can travel using a glitter “sneeze”
- Writing the story “Poles Apart”
- Nativity songs
Family discussion questions:
- How far can a sneeze travel?
Looking forward:
- Writing stories about penguin adventures
- PE sessions on Tuesday and Friday– ball skills and dance
- Geography
- Maths – subtraction skills
- Nativity songs and acting parts
Homework in Year 2
Please listen to your child read for 15 minutes each day and talk about what they have read. Can they tell you what happened? Do they understand the meaning of new words? What was their favourite part? Please use the bookmarks we sent home this week to help you.
