Year 2 Looking Back and Forth 20.12.24

Looking back: What a busy week! Our highlight this week was performing our amazing Nativity to an audience. Thank you for supporting the children by attending and helping with learning lines. We are incredibly proud of the children and hope you are too! We have also constructed our Christmas cards in DT, discussed all we have found out about houses in the past and completed the Elf Run.
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I enjoyed performing the Nativity show x 13 chn
- I enjoyed doing the vocabulary quiz about houses
- I enjoyed sewing my Christmas card X3 chn
- My highlight of the week was talking about the properties of shapes- edges and vertices
- My highlight was kind of everything really!!
- My highlight was doing the Elf Run. X 3 chn
- My highlight was decorating out cards. X 3 chn
Family discussion questions:
- For history, discuss what you already know about The Great Fire of London.
- For science, discuss how different materials can be squashed, stretched, twisted and bent.
Looking forward: Next term we will begin exploring a new text- The Night Gardener, learning about the Great Fire of London and in maths we will develop our understanding multiplication and division.
Reminders-
After the holidays. PE will now be on FRIDAY!! Please come to school in kit
Reading books will be changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’.
