Friday 24th September 2021 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

Year 2 have been brilliant this week. We have focused on listening and following instructions again and I have seen a big improvement. Keep this up!

We continued to explore our book and prepare to write our own versions next week. In maths we worked on place value problems, odd and even numbers and greater/less than. We had PE with Premier Sport as well as Zumba and track time. We are exploring our topic of Australasia in earnest now and it has been great to see so many children have done research at home too.

Looking forward:

• Reading books will be changed on Monday. Please ensure your child has their pack with them every day.

Homework in Year 2

Maths: Greater than/Less than sheet due back on Friday

English: complete the alphabetical order sheet and return to school on Friday

Spellings: a phonics based quiz so no sheet sent home

Please read with your child every day. Many children are decoding their reading books well but find answering the comprehension questions much harder. We are working on this at school but it will really help if you can also ask questions during home question time. Please see our class page for further ideas (files section).
