Y2 Friday 6th December 2024 Looking Back & Forth
Looking back: This week we have been working hard on our performance and learning our lines and songs. We have written and edited our circular narratives and in history we have compared different types of Tudor houses.
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I liked writing my circular narrative. x 11chn
- I liked finding out about geographical features of Northern Ireland.x3 chn
- I liked practising the show x12cn
- My highlight was learning my lines for the nativity x5 chn
- I enjoyed learning about different Tudor houses
- I liked making our ‘fat ball-bules” to decorate our tree and provide food for the birds
- I enjoyed finding out about the Titanic Museum
Family discussion questions:
- Please continue to help your child learn their lines for the nativity.
- For science, please discuss how the shape of objects can be can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching. Can you find objects in the house you can bend or squash or stretch?
Looking forward: Next week we will compare modern and Victorian house and continue our rehearsals.
Reminders:
- Christmas Shop- please send money in a named envelope or purse, with a list of who is being bought for and a named bag by Monday 9th December ready for Christmas Shop. We will visit the shop on Wednesday.
- Christmas Dinner day Friday 13th December.
PE is on TUESDAYS! Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
Reading books are changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’.
