Year 2 Looking Back and Forth Friday 7th January
Friday 7th January 2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2
Looking back:
The children have enjoyed the first few days back and have really impressed me. They have quickly settled back into school routines and have shown they are keen to carry on learning. In English we have looked at word classes and identified them correctly in sentences. Phonics work was based around the -ing suffix and in guided reading sessions we focused on fluency and comprehension questions. We looked at place value in maths and used this knowledge to solve some problems. We also used pictograms and bar charts to present information and answer questions. In Science we found out about John Dunlop and also used the field to discover signs that it is winter. Our PE is games this term and the children focused on following rules of play and working together in a team. It’s been a busy first few days!
