Year 2 Looking Back and Forward 6th January

Friday 6th January 2023 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

A super first few days back. Well done everyone. Thank you once again for all the cards, messages and gifts for Christmas. It was so kind of you.

We have settled back into school routines well, remembering how to make the classroom and school a kind, happy place to learn. In Maths, we focused on place value revision and also looked at bar charts in data handling (also covering the ICT curriculum). In English, we explored nouns, verbs and adjectives and identified them in sentences. Science saw us exploring the inventions of Dunlop and discovering seasonal change on the school field. We used retrieval skills in guided reading and revisited the -ed and -ing suffix in phonics.

PE is now games and is on Friday. The children enjoyed RE and French with Mrs Cuttle on Wednesday.

A very busy three days!
