Year 3 Looking Back and Forth 4/4/25

Friday 4th April 2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3

Looking back:

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for their fundraising efforts towards the Easter Hamper – we had lots of lovely things donated and I really do appreciate it – thank you.

What a great end of term we’ve had today! So many successes in our times table challenges with lots of full marks yet again – many of us are on fire!!! We have also enjoyed a music lesson where we composed music through images, cracking all things volume and capacity in maths, creating questions for each other in history to consolidate our learning, learning about regions and summarising our learning in Geography, experimenting with flowers and plants in Science, creating Easter cards in French, reading lots, more success in spellings, rounders in PE and finally, publishing our best work in English!!!

Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Quizzes and finishing all of our work
  • Music in our own groups we chose ourselves
  • Easter eggs and bunnies
  • Playing on the field
  • Singing assembly
  • Working with our partners on the computers
  • Reading questions on the computers
  • Everything!

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • What is a region?
  • What are the parts of a flower called
  • How do you know which method of division to use – Bar Model or Place Value Chart?

  • Looking forward:

Next half term promises to be full of new learning and experiences for Class 3. We will be starting our work on fractions in maths, our new book in English, volcanoes and earthquakes in Geography, The Romans in History, continuing with plants in Science, cricket in PE, drawing and watercolours in art, pizza making in D & T, how beliefs shape identity in RE, games and songs in French and how difference affects people in PSHE. So much to look forward to and of course…drum roll please…we will be starting Maypole practise!!!

PE will continue to be on a Tuesday which is great too!
