Year 4 - Friday 28th February - Looking Back and Forth

Friday 28th February – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back:

This week the children have published the rest of their Viking sagas.  These super stories will be put into their topic books.  The class were introduced to a new text in English.  The actual story hasn’t been revealed yet, but the illustrations are amazing!

In maths, the class were learning different methods for multiplying 2 and 3 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers.  We had aliens with Kneecaps as well as the more formal methods!

Questions to ask at home  -

  • Can you remember what a metaphor, simile and hyperbole is?
  • What is personification?
  • What is a factor and a product in maths?
  • What can you tell me about the new book you are looking at in class?
  • Show me two methods for multiplication you know?
