Friday 27th September – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4
Looking back:
This week, has been another wonderful week in Year 4. The class stepped up to the challenge of writing a tricky biography and have worked exceptionally hard on these. In maths, we have continued to work on place value and the children have got into the groove of arithmetic now with Mrs Riddell.
Questions to ask at home -
- What is the Mallory mystery?
- What is special about his first climb of Everest?
- What disaster happened the second time he climbed it?
- Who is Sandy Irvine and what was his special skill?
- How high is Everest?
- What is the death zone?
Children’s highlights of the week
- Ball catching in P.E.
- Maths extension challenge
- Writing my biography
- Learning about George Mallory
- Making ice cream in science!
Looking forward:
This week, we have a special visitor on Tuesday afternoon, to help us learn all about life in the Himalayas. The children will explore the Mallory Mystery, complete their mountain art, Learn counting to 100 in French and complete their experiment write-ups from their science.
