Year 4 Looking Back and Forth - Friday 11th October
Friday 11th October – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4
Looking back:
This week, the children have continued to work hard on Exhibition work. They dazzled Mrs Murdoch on P.E. and for the 3rd consecutive week, achieved 5 marbles in the P.E. session because of their excellent attitudes. We are very proud of them and their exemplary behaviour.
This week the children have worked on rounding in maths, as well as researching famous Sherpas and their amazing achievements. The class worked with Faith Bebbington, an artist from Liverpool, who specialises in sculpture.
If you are curious to see some of her commissions – please see link below – you will recognise some of them
Questions to ask at home -
- What did you do with Faith Bebbington in your session?
- What can you tell me about the Sherpas and porters on Everest?
- Which Sherpa did you research?
- What surprised you about the Sherpas?
Children’s highlights of the week
- Working with the artist Faith Bebbington
- Maths learning about rounding
- The Sherpa research
- Lunch times with friends – fish and chips
- Exploring more about George Mallory
- Mountain Art
Looking forward:
This week, the children will be working hard to complete all of their work for the exhibition. They will need a set of scruff clothes, if that is possible, as there is going to be a bit of painting going on!
On hands on deck this week – Exhibition work in progress!
