Friday 6th December – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4
Looking back:
This week, has been another super week! The children published their outsider narrative, as well as exploring Arctic fox reports. We completed progress tests, to keep how the class are getting on. We also had a few carol service rehearsals to prepare for next week. The children also made Honeycakes made from an old Anglo-Saxon recipe.

Looking forward:
Where has this term gone! It seems like just last week we were getting things ready for the Exhibition. Now, we are preparing for all things Christmassy! The children have their final session with the students from HCCS on Micro:bits. The children have thoroughly enjoyed these sessions. This week there are lots of rehearsals for the carol service, to make sure it is tip top. We also have the Elf Run on Tuesday.
Homework in Year
NO PAPER BASED HOMEWORK
We would like the class to continue to read and TTRockstar over the Christmas holiday – to keep skills sharp.
Reading – daily at least 15 mins – remember to take the Accelerated Reader Quizzes
TTRockstars – as much as possible 10 mins daily is ideal – at least once a week for 20 mins
Spellings – Mrs Riddell – Please learn them for the test on Wednesday. It is better to look at them for 5 minutes each day than try to learn them all in one night. The children remember them better learnt over the week.
Could the children please complete their homework in pencil or blue/black pen not felt tip.
Timestables this week – x3 x9 x7 x13
(Homework can be handed it at any time before Friday, the children know where the basket is)
Reminders for this week – Please check the weekly Newsletter for more detail
Nightly reading recorded in reading record – make sure it comes to school on Friday
Reading challenge has started – 20 reads in the reading record =10 housepoints
Please encourage your child to record their reading in their reading records.
