Year 4 Looking Back and Forth - Friday 21st March 2025

Friday 21st March – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back:

This week has been another super week, we won the TTRockstars competition.  Year 4 got the highest point score of all the classes involved, which was very impressive!  The class were also awarded class of the week in P.E. by Mrs Murdoch.

The children worked hard on writing their own scene setting in English, which we then published.  The class also explored perimeter in maths.

Questions to ask at home  -

  • What is perimeter?
  • What is personification?
  • What is a metaphor?
  • What is a simile?
  • Is a square a rectangle? Why?
  • What was the boy and girl searching for in the story?

Children’s highlights of the week

  • TTRockstars
  • Publishing our whale story
  • Learning about missionaries in history
  • P.E.
  • Painting our Anglo-Saxon brooches

Looking forward:

Next week, the class will be; investigating Viking place names, exploring animals in French, learning the story of the Prodigal Son in R.E, classifying invertebrates, vertebrates and insects in science and creating awesome forest art too!

We will be visiting the Mother’s Day shop on Tuesday morning.  The children wanting to make purchases will need to bring their money and a bag.

Also, we will be selling the raffle tickets for the Easter hampers from Monday.
