Year 4 Looking Back and Forth - Friday 7th March

Friday 7th March – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4

Looking back:

This week, the class have been looking at the Viking Gods poem, To Asgard!  We have been putting actions to the verses to make them more memorable.  In English, we have exploring prepositions.   In maths, we have been practising our skills of multiplication and division, using informal and formal methods.  The children also created their wonderful Anglo Saxon brooches.

Questions to ask at home  -

  • What is a preposition?
  • What actions do you have for the Odin verse?
  • What do know about the Viking gods?
  • What is a refrain?
  • What is assonance?

Children’s highlights of the week

  • Making clay brooches
  • TTRockstars
  • PE – Rounders
  • Maths learning about multiplication and division
  • Our Vikings work

Looking forward:

Next week, the class will be going on an adventure to Delamere for our residential visit.  We are very excited, but appreciate that there may be worries.  If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to ask.  When we get we will be reviewing the trip as well as learning Viking songs too!  It is going to be a packed week!
