Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 19th March 2021

Y6 - Friday 19th March 2021 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

Just another superb week in Year 6 with our pupils busy busy busy as ever. This week, we’ve enjoyed reviewing another of our lockdown pieces of work for English – “Vita’s Dream”.  Our “Double Page Spreads” are really allowing us to share the work with each other and for the adults to give extremely detailed, personal and specific feedback to individual pupils about moving forward with their writing as we turn to new topics this week.  We have also reviewed the percentages work and completed a mini assessment for this.  There are lots of photos to enjoy from this week – please see the “Display Work Items” tab.

North America is our topic with Mrs Cooper and we have begun to look at a range of websites to collect information.  We’ve enjoyed our science work about light and – thanks to Mrs. Cooper’s careful planning – we’ve been able to observe experiments to support our learning. We have also been thinking about how Hindus show respect for living things and had discussions around this; EXCEL spreadsheets have been introduced to the class; e-safety continues to be a topic for discussion and we are always looking at how this applies to our own online activities.  We finished the week discussing our “Inspiration Person of the Week” – Billy Monger and we learned more about Down’s Syndrome – our reason for wearing odd socks on Friday.  So, as you can see, another busy busy busy week in Year 6.
