Year 6 - Week in Review - Friday 13th October 2017
Our work towards our annual exhibition has continued apace this week with many different activities going on again. Don't forget that you can have a look at our photos taken throughout the week by clicking on the links for our "Display work items". You'll be able to see lots of work across the curriculum being enjoyed by our pupils.
We have completed our work about "The Great Stink" and have begun to look at the marvellous engineering which goes into The Thames Barrier. The pupils have enjoyed working with Mrs. Green using reference books; working with Talking Partners to view two YouTube clips about the barrier; and discussing lots of technical aspects with Mrs. Timmins about what the barrier is for, when it is used, and what would happen if it were not in place.
Mrs. Cowell has worked on marine habitats - watch out for some fabulous 3D models. In addition, there has been some fabulous art with exceptionally bright and lively colours this week, too. Mrs. Benson continues to practise our Hindu dance and we are working hard to perfect this with lots of balance and performance too. Premier sports have been great, working on street dance and of course, it's been the best part of the week on Fridays as we've enjoyed getting to know our buddies a little more.
Thank you to our families for the generous donations for our Harvest Festival. This next week is the Year 6 cake sale. Our teachers are really looking forward to that one!
So, more and more going on each week. One more week of preparation for the Exhibition! We're going to be at our busiest next week.
The Year 6 Team.
