Year 6 - Week in Review - Friday 27th January 2017
Year 6 Week-in-Review Friday 27th January 2017
This week has been a real mix of activities. We’ve really worked hard on our writing in our English lessons, developing our reading skills (learning about ‘The Great Plague’) and our crafting skills, composing characters based upon a button. We have learned that traditionally, buttons for ladies and gentlemen were fastened on different sides, and we’ve watched snippets of how buttons are made – either sheet buttons or rod buttons. Some of our work is on Twitter, or the photo section. If you’d like to have a look, please click the link.
With Mrs. Cowell, we’ve continued to look at the blood and heart, and we’re doing interesting things with gummi bears (sadly, though, not eating them). Some of us represented the school at athletics on Wednesday afternoon, and of course, we sang for our families and friends at the i-Sing Pop concerts on Thursday.
What a week it’s been – bring on next week now!
Questions to ask your son/daughter this week include:
Tell me about your “button buddy”.
How are buttons made?
Talk to me about osmosis.
Which was your favourite i-Sing Pop tune?
Kind regards
The Year 6 Team
