Year 6 - Week in Review - Friday 29th September 2017
Year 6 Week-in-Review: Friday 29th September 2017
What a really exciting week it’s been in Year 6 this week. Where do we begin?
The pupils have been really busy this week, across all their subjects and lessons. They’ve learned all about how the River Thames was important for trading over the centuries and have been excellent at looking how they prepare and present their writing ready for our exhibition in a few weeks. They’ve been continuing their scientific research into adaptation within the natural world with Mrs. Cowell and have enjoyed a challenging session of French, too. Art has been interesting too – wait and see what they’ve been studying!
Thursday afternoon was particularly interactive with two very special visitors into our classroom. This was a really enjoyable and informative afternoon and the class has learned so much for their RE lesson.
However, the most exciting part of the week was surely Friday afternoon: no doubt you’ve all been hearing excited accounts of how the Year 6 have now met their new buddies from Reception. It was so wonderful to see Mrs. Flint pair these children together and how they all filed away in twos and shared their brilliant buddy books. The next few sessions of “getting to know you” will be super to watch as they play together and begin to develop a long-lasting friendship.
Questions to ask your son/daughter this week include:
Who were the two special visitor on Thursday afternoon and why did they join you in Year 6?
Tell me about the artwork you’re studying with Mrs. Cowell.
Which new French phrases did you learn this week?
What did you and your buddy do on Friday afternoon? (Be prepared for a very long and excited answer!)

Kind regards
