Year 6 - Week in Review - Friday 8th December 2017
What a great week - yet again.
English lessons have continued with our story of Beowulf. The pupils really seem to be enjoying the film clip we are using and are producing some super work. A few snaps of their work are on the gallery links. Please bear in mind that these are first, unedited drafts, and therefore may include the odd spelling mistake, etc. Maths has seen us practise our knowledge of 3D shapes including drawing nets. These have - on occasion - proved a tricky task.
Mrs. Cowell's lessons have seen the class get creative with images of a heart and blood cells/vessels using a range of different media - photos in our gallery section.
On Thursday morning, the class was taught by another teacher for the morning whilst I (Mrs. Timmins) was discussing the transition process with Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School. When I returned and asked how the class had been, the reply included the comment "their writing is fab". On Friday afternoon, I also received an email from the teacher, which included the following comment "I had such a great morning with your class yesterday. They were fabulous." We know they are, but it's just brilliant when visitors to our school see it through different eyes. Very well done, Year 6.
We hope you've enjoyed the snowy weekend - no doubt there are lots of snowmen/snowwomen/snowdogs/snowanythings out there in your gardens. If anyone would like to submit a photo of their snowy adventures, there'll be five house points waiting for you! mrs.timmins@goostrey.cheshire.sch.uk
We are ready for our visit to HCCS on Monday. Please can the pupils remember to bring a drink and/or snack for the interval. They will also need their own packed lunch from home as we are not expecting to be back at Goostrey until after our own kitchen has finished serving lunch.
Enjoy the snow
