Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 10th May 2024

Y6 – Friday 10th May 2024 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

We have rounded off a super-busy week with a lovely session with our wonderful buddies – being outside with them, on the field, in the fresh air, chasing in and out of the woods was the perfect end to the week.  Our pupils are all now prepared for the coming assessments and hopefully will enjoy a sunny weekend before returning on Monday, all fresh and raring to go!  During our week we have consolidated our reading skills; strengthened our understanding of a range of both grammatical and mathematical topics; we have spent time discussing the Mesolithic era in history; begun to look at Star Carr; discussed musical topics; played rounders in PE; and enjoyed spending much time on the field at lunchtimes.  What a super week once more.

Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • MG – Rounders in PE
  • IC – Buddies
  • NH – Looking at the Mesolithic era
  • RW – Being on the field with friends
  • EA – Preparing for our SATs
  • EB – Working on music
  • RMB – The food
  • KC – Using the “blue trays” at lunchtime

Family discussion questions:

  • What can you tell me about Star Carr?
  • Explain what you were discussing about music with Mrs Riddell
  • Who is Mal Arvorian?

Looking forward:

  • We are all set to show off our skills next week with our national assessments – all prepared and ready to smash whatever comes our way. Our afternoons will be taken up with a very relaxed atmosphere to ensure that we are bright and ready for the week ahead.
