Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 13th December 2024

Y6 – Friday 13th December 2024 - Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

Our photos will hopefully show that we’ve enjoyed a super week in Year 6 – take a look at our gallery page and see if you can spot your child somewhere!  We’ve completed our work based around Ernest Shackleton’s expedition and we’ve moved onto measures in maths.  We enjoyed looking at our new book for our No Outsiders programme, called “The Whisperer” whilst we have also enjoyed practising for our carol service this coming week.  We have decorated our tree for Christmas with popcorn and dangling decorations whilst PE has seen some quite enthusiastic dodge ball games.  Another super week – only one to go in 2024.

 Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • AC – Arithmetic
  • LW – Carol singing
  • MM – The Holy Trinity in RE
  • CT – Writing our magazine articles
  • IG – Looking at biomes for geography
  • JD – Singing practice
  • ZW – Our top 10 Hats
  • MM – Writing our articles

Family discussion questions:

  • What was the story and theme of “The Whisperer”?
  • What do you know about the Holy Trinity?
  • Why have you decorated a tree?

Looking forward:

  • We are looking forward to our final week of 2024 which will bring a few regular lessons, a few opportunities to impress our teachers with our knowledge gained. We will look forward to performing our carol service alongside seeing our buddies to round of a fabulous autumn term.
  • Out carol services will take place over three performances – Tuesday afternoon @ 1:30pm for Years 3 & 4; Thursday morning at 9:30am for Years 5 & 6; everyone welcome for our 5pm show on the junior playground on Thursday.
  • Please remember to bring your tickets for entry into the church.
  • Don’t forget to let Mrs Timmins know if you’d like tickets for the Crewe Alex game
