Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 13th September 2024
Y6 – Friday 13th September 2024 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
Our first full week has been a fantastic success. The pupils have completed all of their assessments and have begun to work on their Exhibition study of Rob Burrow. Maths has seen us look at consolidating our knowledge of place value whilst during the afternoons, we have all been allocated our studies for our USA study. We are pleased with the way the class has settled and we are excited to be working with them throughout the year. There are some photos from this last week under the “Display Work Items” weblink – please enjoy having a look at our learning in action.
Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- RP – Learning how to use Starspell
- CT – Friendships
- ZW – Finding out about places in New York
- RN – Maths
- JD – Partying with my friends at playtime
- IG – Studying in RE
- FB – Analysing a biography
- EH – Working on the Rob Burrow quote
- ZL – Looking at our new states of America
Family discussion questions:
- What is the quote from Rob Burrow and what does the word (beginning with ‘a’) mean?
- Which state have you received from Mrs Cowell?
- Tell me about the places in New York which you have studied.
Looking forward:
- We will be really settling into our learning and continuing with our lessons into our Autumn Term. PE will continue to be on Friday afternoons and we will be looking at our new spelling scheme.
- On Wednesday, we will be having our Harvest assembly – please see the newsletter for details of what the children may donate. Thank you
