Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 14th January 2022
Y6 – Friday 14th January 2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
A really busy week – we’ve been enjoying the continuation of our new class story and have been starting to look at the meaning behind a “flashback” story. We have completed work on geometry and decimals in maths and have enjoyed basketball with Mr Biggs on Friday. Famous scientists, particular those associated with electricity have been another focus for our afternoon work, whilst the Stone Age and Iron Age formed the basis for our history focus.
The children have settled back into class very well: we are looking forward to working with them once more.
Letters issued Y6:
None this week
Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- Playing with our buddies on Friday
- Learning new basketball skills
- Finding out about Rami and his music
- Reflecting shapes in maths
Family discussion questions:
- What does Rami have to offer to his fellow travellers?
- Tell me what you know about the Stone Age?
- Describe the hats designed by the fabulous Stephen Jones and Philip Treacy.
Looking forward:
- All of our current lessons will be continued next week – we are looking forward to working with percentages in maths and flashback writing in English. We’ll continue to learn about different time periods in history and investigating scientific discoveries too.
