Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 14th May 2021

Y6 – Friday 14th May 2021 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

This week, we have enjoyed learning many new words in English, linked to our writing and spellings for the week.  We’ve also been introduced to the topic of ‘volume’ in maths and we’ve amazed ourselves at how well we’ve picked this up so quickly.  Not only that but we have been busy with finishing our batik work, making these into some wonderful covers.  We’ve also consolidated our scientific knowledge of ‘light’ and we continued to work on our ‘Scratch’ projects for ICT.  On Wednesday, we were even practising our music with Mrs Sant outdoors – why not see our weekly photos and see if you can recognise all of the instruments we are using.

We were also visited by our PCSO on Monday who chatted with the pupils around the theme of online safety – linking well with our teaching of e-safety.  We were also praised as being the best class the PCSO has visited.  Excellent impressions made Year 6 – we’re proud of your compliments.

It’s been interesting to see the arrival of the swimming pool this week.  All is hidden away for now but we’re looking forward to our sessions over the coming days.
