Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 15th November 2024

Y6 – Friday 15th November 2024 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

Our pupils have enjoyed a great week with a range of different lessons to engage Year 6.  They all now have role on board Shackleton’s ship, Endurance and we are all heading into The Weddell Sea as this weekend passes.  Fractions have been challenging us this week too.  As part of a cultural study of America, the class have begun to learn about Native Americans; in addition, IT has seen the pupils creating branching databases which links brilliantly to their work in science, about fungi.  Top 10 facts and quizzes have also been created whilst on Thursday, pupils continued their learning about Divali – a session that was followed by some mindful yoga.  On Friday, pupils enjoyed their PE with Mrs Murdock and, of course, a session shared with their buddies.

It was a pleasure to meet with families this week to discuss how Year 6 have settled into their final year with us and, on Friday, a letter was issued regarding the upcoming visit to Crucial Crewe.  A survey is now open for permission and lunch choices.

A selection of photos is available to view under the gallery tab: we hope you enjoy reading, and seeing, what our pupils have been doing throughout the week.

Full details are in an email, sent on Friday afternoon, including clothing and instructions.

We will also be continuing with other lessons as normal.  PE will still take place on Friday so once pupils have enjoyed their morning with the forest school instructors, they will need their trainers.
