Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 17th January 2025
Y6 – Friday 17th January 2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
We’ve got some great photos this week and even a few short videos to try out! Enjoy seeing our children at work!
A thoroughly enjoyable week in Year 6 with many different tasks going on. We’ve begun to write our own sections of Hansel and Gretel with some simply stunning descriptions and pieces. In maths, we’ve looked at the topic of ratio and linked this to scaling. Our afternoons have seen lessons about the Stone Age; we’ve been looking at the work of Charles Darwin; we enjoyed the Game of Survival; our lovely pebbles have been completed; gymnastics was fun (see our photos); and, of course, we have loved seeing our fabulous buddies.
Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- MJ Starting to write our own stories
- LW Gymnastics in PE
- JD Reading Hansel & Gretel
- ZL Finishing our pebbles
- CT Seeing our buddies

- What are ‘scale factors’?
- Can you tell me what two things to look for when identifying progressive verbs?
- What is the “Game of Survival”?
Looking forward:
- We are really looking forward to next week and continuing with our stories and research about the different historical periods. Don’t forget that the new CGP books are due to be handed in for arithmetic on Thursday and for maths reasoning and English on Friday. Please be sure to complete the homework so that this can be marked in class.
