Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 22nd March 2024
Y6 – Friday 22nd March 2024 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
Our penultimate week of the half term has seen a little revision of grammatical terms; we have begun our second piece of writing based upon our current story; our knowledge of angles has been strengthened; we’ve enjoyed a selection of light experiments; Mrs Sant has taught a lesson for music; we’ve enjoyed playing hockey; our buddies have been fabulous; and we have already begun our spring term assessments. What a great week.
Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- SHA – Working on quadrilaterals in maths
- IC – Trying out the light experiments
- RB – Time with our buddies
- EB – Music with Mrs Sant
- NB – English
- AK – Maths lessons
- EA – PE
Family discussion questions:
- What quadrilaterals can you name? What do the internal angles add up to in a triangle, quadrilateral, pentagon, hexagon? How could you use triangles to help calculate internal angles within polygons?
- Tell me about music with Mrs Sant? What were you listening to and what did you learn?
- What can you tell me about the light experiments? What did you learn from these?
Looking forward:
- We are finishing off our spring term with a few more assessments to show how strong our knowledge is. We shall also be finishing a range of topics across our curriculum.
