Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 27th September 2024
Y6 – Friday 27th September 2024 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6
Looking back:
What Year 6 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- What a busy week in Year 6: this week we have completed our biography writing about Rob Burrow and this has been published ready to share in our Exhibition. Maths has seen us revising and consolidating vocabulary such as factors & multiples, and extending this to common factors and common multiples. We have looked at The Carolinas and National Parks in America; Our Happy Mind was enjoyed on Monday; studies of North American heroes took us to discuss a range of names and reasons for choice; and we completed the week with a super-fun session of PE with Mrs Murdoch. Our final task on Friday was to have a lovely play session with our new Reception class – we are hoping to meet up with our little buddies next week.
Pupils’ thoughts and enjoyments:
- MM – Working on the computers for maths lessons
- IG – Completing our “States” work for the USA
- RN – Continuing to study the RE lessons on Shambo the Cow
- HN – Publishing our Rob Burrow writing
- JD – Painting my flag
Family discussion questions:
- Can you find the common factors of 24, 36 and 40?
- How can you tell if a number is divisibly by 4 or 6, without calculating?
- Tell me three facts about “The Carolinas” or the National Parks of the USA.
Looking forward:
- We are having another great week where we will be continuing with our work towards the Exhibition, alongside our regular studies. Friday will be PE once again and – fingers crossed – we will be meeting our buddies.
