Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 2nd December 2022

Y6 – Friday 2nd December 2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

A week of transition in English – we’ve left Shackleton behind and moved onto a new text.  Whilst we’ve not yet revealed the actual text, we’ve enjoyed playing a game of Pelmanism to learn a huge amount of new vocabulary (see this week’s family questions) and we’ve begun to write about our new character “The Highwayman”.  Maths has seen us having fun with fractions using our skills in multiplying and dividing by fractions and integers.  Climate data in the Americas has taken up some of our geography teaching and our multi-media presentations are coming along nicely.  “The Whisperer” formed part of our ‘No Outsiders’ teaching this week and we’ve continued with our learning about Charles Darwin too.  The week was rounded off with practising for our Carol Concert on Thursday afternoon with PE, French and Buddies on Friday.  Two weeks to go with lots to cram in.  Hard to believe we’re almost one term gone!  Have a great weekend everyone.
