Y6 – Friday  30th September 2022 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

So, there's been quite a bit of "game playing" going on in Year 6 this past week: in particular - Dominoes; 5s and 3s; Mancala; 31 Out; Sudoku; and Bagatelle. The pupils have been learning how to play games which all involve counting or numbers - following on from our inspirational mathematician, Katherine Johnson, who loved to count.  We've enjoying having fun with numbers.

In addition, maths has seen us learning some new concepts including common factors, common mulitples and integers.  We have also been learning lots of new names for the different parts of our brain; our "My Happy Mind" programme introduced us to 'happy breathing' - why not ask your child to explain this to you.  Very relaxing and calming!  We've learned about latitude and longitude for geography and have looked at fungi for science.  There are some photos from our art work on the website too - please do take a look.

On Friday, we were very excited to meet our new buddies and we are so privileged to be looking after these little people as they settle into life at Goostrey.  Another brilliant week in Year 6.
