Year 6 Week in Review - Friday 16th June 2017
Year 6 Week-in-Review Friday 16th June 2017
So, this week has been even busier than usual. We began with spending Monday and Tuesday on our hat-making skills and we have all now produced some fabulous hats which we are looking forward to sharing with you at our Hatwalk on the afternoon of Thursday 20th July. We’ve designed, cut, glued, pasted, sewed, coloured, glittered, helped, supported, etc. to produce a wide array of wonderful hats that would grace any milliner’s shop windows.
On Wednesday, those of us heading off to Holmes Chapel in Year 7 had our first transition day where we all got to experience some time in a variety of curriculum lessons. We’re really looking forward to our next day on Thursday, by which time, we’ll be in our new tutor groups. Those of us heading in different directions were lucky enough to spend the day with our Reception class and we’ve realised what super staff Mrs. Flint and Mrs. Raven are – they are on the go ALL day!
Thursday was brilliant with a visit to Stockley Farm with our buddies. We got to feed the animals, have our photo taken with a camera-ready large pig, have a tractor ride, play on the adventure playground and generally be responsible for our young buddies. The weather was great and we enjoyed our picnics too.
Friday now sees us enjoying Premier Sports time where we practised for sports day, and then we were treated to some amazing dance moves from our wonderful South African visitors. Whatever will next week bring?
Questions to ask your son/daughter this week include:
What does your hat look like?
Tell me about this pig who likes to have her photo taken?
Can you show me some dance moves from Friday morning?
Kind regards
The Year 6 Team
