Yr 4 - Friday 8th February - Looking back and forth
Monday 10th February 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4
Looking back:
In English, after a wonderful session with Nick Rowles from Cheshire Wildlife, the class wrote about the different types of trees there are in the world. We are now pretty good and knowing the difference between broadleaved trees and conifers. In our session with Nick, he showed us how to age a tree using a tape measure calculator and a simple formula. It was interesting finding out the ages of the trees in the school grounds.
In maths, we looked at the values of decimals, counting decimals as well as adding and subtracting decimals to hundredths.
In the afternoons, we got to grips with the electrical symbols for the components you find in a circuit. We also tested out a variety of circuits. First we predicted if we thought they would work, and then put them together to test the theory! The class were impressive to watch. Working together well in teams; they were cooperating, discussing and listening to each other’s ideas. This week in art we put the finishing touches to our geli-pad printing art work for the art gallery.
With Mrs Cooper this week, the children continued to work on Microsoft Logo. In French, the children studied the weather in different parts of France.
