Yr 4 Looking Back and Forth - Friday 10th May
Friday 10rd May – Looking Back & Forth in Year 4
Looking back:
This week, the class have been writing the first paragraph of their own twisted fairy tale. We have used the tale of Little Red Riding Hood as our story. The children have written fantastic first paragraphs, where Red unwittingly meets a mysterious figure in the woods. In maths, the class have continued their work on fractions and in particular adding fractions.
Questions to ask at home -
- What is a numerator?
- What is a denominator?
- How have you described the wolf in your first paragraph?
- What are you planning for your twisted ending?
- What can you tell me about inverted commas?
Children’s highlights of the week
- Being on the field at lunchtime
- Designing my purse
- My Happy Mind work
- Writing my twisted narrative
- Memorising the Viking poem
- Playing on the field with friends
- P.E.
Looking forward:
This week, the class will be; exploring the digestive system, using maps to study Viking place names, looking at Humanism in R.E. and sewing purses in the hall on Thursday.
